The easiest and most popular race in Sc2 would be Terran. Terran is a tough race to attack successfully due to their strengths being around defensive tactics.
As you continue reading it will explained the most suitable strategies for Terran in Starcraft 2.
It's important at the start of the match to scout your base frequently to ensure you reveal any early rush moves from Zerg or Protoss players. These could be a Pylon being constructed just out of vision of your base or a Zerg Nydus worm.
The early game key to stopping any rushes is watching over your own base and your enemys.
Most times your build order will consist of containing your way in to your base and placing structures around your base so that you have the best vision possible of the map.
While you are blocking in your base and building up your defenses, its important to continually irritate and investigate your opponent and attack with small groups to disorder his build order and plan.
A tank drop or unit drop is a good Terran tactic. This strategy involves moving a dropship unseen into the back of your opponent's base and landing your units into the base and take out as many of your opponent's troops as possible before you have been recognised and need to retreat.
This strategy is a great way to take control of the game and force your opponent to defend his base when he was possibly planning to attack yours. This tactic is a relatively low cost to contruct the units, but once your opponent retreats his units to defend against yours, pull out your troops and retreat back to your base so they remain available for a possible later similar attack.
It's important to realise that though Terran is probably the top defensive race, you will not win the match without attacking at some stage. While you are diverting and annoying your opponent with small attacks, Terran have the ability to employ your defensive units forward into an attacking arrangement which forces your opponent in. Blocking your enemy in his own base with your siege tanks is a good tactic for Terran when managed effectively. This can give you the opportunity to expand, as well as gather up resources to produce a group of units that can finish off your enemy or really make a dint in his base.
Every unit in Starcraft 2 for Terran has a counter unit, and in this instance siege tanks can be countered by air unit attacks, or your enemy may attempt to counter attack your main base when you are executing this move on their base. This is why you must to support your seige tanks with troops to defend against air attacks.
If you know your terrain well, another good drop tactic while playing Terran is finding a choke point close to your opponent's base where you can drop in siege tanks to frustrate your enemy on the edges of his base. Setting up your seige tanks with other troops can slow your opponent from defusing your attack and can probably destroy alot of his base while he is endeavoring to do so.
