Out of the three races in Sc2, Protoss are viewed as the middle race. Protoss are viewed as the middle race due to being able to use most tactics from the other two races, also their useability isn't the hardest nor the most easy. An important ability to master when playing as Protoss is micro management.
In comparison to Zerg and Terran, Protoss attacks usually are of smaller groups, so good control of your units is important to play them effectively against your enemy.

Teching up
Upgrading is of vital importance when using Protoss, as each unit's cost and survival is key to victory. As you watch your enemy and their tactic, you will know first hand what unit and building technology will be best suited to counter any attacks.
Protoss can be a hard race for your opponent to understand what tactic is being played, as their build order starts the same way for most strategies.
The cybernetics core is the centre piece to most technology upgrades for Protoss. Most of Protoss tactics require this bulding up and ready early to have access to upgrades and the ability to build stalkers.
Rush Attacks
A valuable Sc2 Strategy for Protoss, as well for the 2 other races, is rush strategies. Protoss has their own style of rush tactics due to how their buildings and units are produced.

Middle Game and Beyond
Protoss, as mentioned above, become a stronger race to use as the game proceeds after the early stages in the middle and late game. Defending against any early rushes and moving your way into the mid game means you will be ready to undertake in a number of good Sc2 Tactics for Protoss.
As the game continues and with the right technology advances, you may be in the position to start building carriers and a
mothership. Carriers and a mothership can be a great scare strategy and a way to attack your enemy from different angles.
The mothership with its cloaking ability, makes supporting air units like carriers a hard group to defend when you move into attack. Alot of your unexpected battles can be easily won.
Diamond ranked Protoss gamers can deal with almost all types of tactics they are presented with. Once you have attained good micro skills and implement the right build order and early game defense strategies, Protoss can be seen as one of the strongest races to use.
